About me
Małgorzata Szymańska-Cegiełka
I studied at the Art Academy in Wrocław at the Faculty of Industrial Design and Interior Architecture. I received my diploma in 1981 in the Interior Design Department of prof. Wladyslaw Wincze and in the Art Painting of prof. Jozef Halas.
I have participated in many individual and collective exhibitions in Poland and abroad. I was an organizer of several international interdisciplinary workshops in Poland and Germany.
For many years I worked as an art and art history teacher. Due to high standard of my education, I tried to make my lessons unique, original, and creative. I believe that I have succeeded and for some students I have become an important figure.
One of the painting techniques that I love most is watercolor. Watercolor allows me to use unique, individual artistic expressions. Once a wrongly placed brush, the color cannot be wiped off. I like this risk where everything has to go right the first time. Its airiness and transparency add unique light to the painting.
I sign all my works without a title. I leave the creation of the titles to the viewers’ imagination.
Watercolor is a challenge, a passion, playing with fire, fun, and life.
